Building Events

For every house we build, we host a Groundbreaking or Blessing of the Foundation Ceremony to get the build underway. At the end of the build we have a ceremony known as our House Dedication.

House Dedication Ceremony

At the end of each build project, a house dedication occurs. Faith leaders representing the family are invited to bless the home, and those who contributed to the build are welcome to see the finished project. This event marks the official presentation of the property to the Partner Families and is often met with many emotions.

Blessing of the Foundation 2011

2011 was the busiest year to date for Habitat for Humanity Wellington County. However, this means building homes for more deserving families and commemorating these builds with more events like Blessing of the Foundation. We'll keep you updated with the latest news regarding these events as they come about.

The Blessing of the Foundation Ceremony is symbolic of Habitat's Christian beginnings. The ceremony is a welcoming, non-denominational service to kick off building.
